My work is having an apparently laid back summer party, and I don't want to sound like a weird fashion metro man, but I don't know what to wear.
Usually when we have staff parties they are very formal, or a little relaxed but if you wear a suit, or at least a shirt and tie you're fine. It's usually easy for men to get away with it, a suit is a suit! But with this so-called laid back dress code I have no idea what I'm supposed to wear. I can't go in a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops like I would if I was being laid back anywhere else, so the code is redundant in itself.
I'm thinking of just wearing some very well-pressed mens chinos and a shirt with some fairly casual shoes and a jacket rather than a suit jacket.
What do you guys think? This is too hard for me I'm rubbish with this sort of thing!
